FORS Trade Company

FORS Trade Company is one of the biggest trading networks of the Krasnoyarsk region and has been present on the market since 1993. At present, the company runs Cash&Carry stores and provides wholesale supply of food products. The company occupies 12% of the market in the Krasnoyarsk region. At the present moment, the implementation of Axapta Retail is being finished in the company's stores and head office.


Problem

In 2000, the company's business began growing fast. Old trade technology no longer met the requirements of the developing trading network. Therefore, the company's management decided to implement a modern ERP system that would allow FORS company to use the most up-to-date trade management schemes in its work.

The process of choosing the information system was initiated as early as 2001. The company's IT experts took their time to evaluate all the ERP systems on the market and, finally, recommended that the network management choose Axapta. One of the Microsoft Business Solutions partners based in Moscow was to implement the system. However, after the case study was carried out and the training programme finished, it became clear that the standard system configuration did not fully meet the company's need for automation. That is why, in the end of 2002, the FORS company management decided to implement the industry solution for retail trade, Axapta Retail.


Result

According to Vladimir Kovalev, the head of FORS information technology department, the choice of Axapta Retail over the standard system appeared to be not only more effective, but it also allowed the company to save time and resources necessary for the project. V. Kovalev also believes that implementing an industry solution that is so well developed is best for a company which is just starting its retail business and is fully aware of its specific features.
