KORUS Consulting has finished implementing mobile wireless technologies in O'Kay hypermarket network. Realization of this project allows to reduce working expenses of the personnel in customer service and purchase operations. This implementation will also allow to make goods information more actual. Portable radio terminals for the employees will provide access to the central database and the necessary set of functions of Axapta Retail. With this device they will be able to receive information concerning goods on-hand, stock quantities, purchase order volumes and prices. Besides that employees can order goods, perform physical counting operation or print a price tag right from the shop floor. Accepting goods from vendors according to previously generated orders with new mobile devices reduces working expenses and saves the time.

Mobile technologies implementation has become real due to extending functionality of Axapta Retail industry solution which is used by O'Kay for a long time. An additional module Axapta Wireless Services (AWS) for mobile devices control has been developed by Next Innovations company, Danish partner of KORUS Consulting. It allows to organize an effective real time interaction between Axapta Retail and different mobile devices using modern Microsoft technologies such as Web Services and .net. Symbol PPT 8846 is used as moblie terminal. It has Intel® XScale™ 400 MHz processor, 64 Mb RAM and 64 Mb ROM, IrDA port, WLAN and Bluetooth interfaces. As O'Kay IT director Nikolay Zatravin says, technologies like that were used before but implementation of real time data processing technology is the big advantage and allows to increase the functionality of the system. Besides, the solution platform is highly flexible whixh allows to set up the system properly according to growing demands of the business.

This project is the new step in relations between O'Kay hypermarket network and KORUS Consulting company. Before that the companies have realized the project for implementation of Axapta Retail industry solution for retail networks. The long time partnership (over 3 years) has the background of successful realization by KORUS Consulting of previous stages of implementation of Axapta Retail. O'Kay hypermarket network includes three shops situated in St.-Petersburg. Their total square is 45 thousand sq. meters. O'Kay shops offer up to 35 thousand articles: food, clothes, consumer electronics and so on. The first hypermarket under this trade mark was opened in May 2002. It is planned to increase the number of hypermarkets to 10 til 2007. O'Kay hypermarkets are to be opened in other regions of Russia.
